Category, action, and label are three generic names of event tracking Event tracking is a method available in Google Analytics. In this, you can record user interactions with various web elements like a menu system driven by Flash.
Google Analytics Event tracking is the most useful feature. It allows you to record interactions with elements of your website which aren’t tracked as standard within Google Analytics.
With event tracking, you can experiment with different tricks, and you can also see how they perform. let’s have a brief about the three elements of Event Tracking.
Category:- This is the first generic name of the group of objects if you want to track. In this, you can download PDF. Event category can be a title of a video, title tag of a web page
Action:- Action is the second generic name of event google tracking. For example play, pause, etc.
Label:- The label is the name assigned to the web page element, whose users’ interaction you want to track. Event label can be a title of a product Demo video, title tag of a web page, name of a gadget, name of the downloadable file, etc.
For example, if you set up an event for a video interaction on your product page, you might set up the following values for your event:
- Category: “Videos”
- Action: “Play”
- Label: “Product Demo Video”
